SharePoint 2013: Event ID 6398, Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.LMTRepopulationJob threw an exception

 You see the following errors in the Application Log:






Checking in Central Admin > Manage Services on Server, the Distributed Cache service is 'Started' on all servers.

The following commands run in SP2013 Management Shell confirm the Cache is not connected:





 Run the following commands to reconnect the Cache:



Now the output looks correct:



That's it!

  1. Thanks for the information. This did the trick & I didn't have to go to the extreme of removing AppFabric & reinstalling as some other blog posts & articles said to do. I've tried that before & it has never worked.

    But after couple of days it back. Do you have any idea why its getting disconnected? Is there a setting that I need to change or so.

  3. I stopped Distributed Cache as I have only one Front End server which contains Search Services Application. More over after removing Distributed cached the site performance has been increased a lot. But my problem is that the above error is throwing into the Event viewer every minute. How to stop that?
